Find Ancestors

Hi needing help in finding my grandfather the only information I have is that he married my grandmother Edna Rimmer and had 3 children Leslie in 1941 who is my father , Ernest born 1944 died in 1945 and Jean born 1946 he remarried in 1949 to a Rose Gardner and had 2 sons Henry J Hodson born 1952 and Walter S Hodson born 1954 there maybe a possible 3rd marriage to a Beryl J Wooley. If anybody can help me I would be very great full as I live in Australia and have no information on him at all. Thanks in advanced Sandra.

Have pm'd you a transcription of UK electoral registers 2002-2014 with an address for him in Wallasey.

I'm assuming he's still alive as I've not found a death for him.

There are two possibilities for his birth but this one is nearer to where he married (although this would make him quite young when he married):-

Of course these are only possibilities. His marriage certificate would be best to get his father's name, then you could look for a marriage of his parents.

Henry J Hodson, 1952 has mother's maiden name as McHenry and Walter S, 1954 has mother's maiden name as Byrne so I'm wondering how they can be Rose Gardner's children?

The only Hodson births MMN Gardner are in Newark, Notts between 1937 and 1950.

This Arthur is a fibrous plasterer and is living with Florence and Marie Shelagh so I think the person who owns this tree has got themselves a bit muddled up.


Sandra, I really think you need to buy the marriage certificate of Edna Rimmer and your grandfather to find out his age and his father's name.

You have already been advised to do this and I think it's the only way you can be certain you're following the right man.
