Hi
Im really struggling with my ancestor "Gladys Sarah Marsden".
*Born 1895/6 Brighton youngest child to Ellen Potter & Alexander Marsden.
*By 1901 Gladys was in a Brighton workhouse & her 3 older brothers (Frederick, Alexander & Edward) were nearby at Warren Farm School (Workhouse). Im unsure why they were all separated.
*1910 Gladys is aged 14 & discharged from Warren Farm School (Unsure when she arrived here from the local workhouse she was at in 1901). Gladys went to live with Mrs Downham as a domestic servant at 9 Rugby Rd, Brighton
*1911 census - servant with Mrs Downham
*1923 - Gladys is witness on brother Alexanders marriage cert in Eccles Lancs. Fathers name states Edward and not Alexander. I have no idea why the parents abandoned their children or where they both died.

Any help/guidance would be really appreciated. Joanne

What are you asking, please.

What have you done to try to find info?

Have you used freebmd?

You don't mention any birth years for the parents.........that info is vital

Joanne headed her post :

Gladys Sarah Marsden b.1895/6 Brighton

Her opening sentence was:

I'm really struggling with my ancestor "Gladys Sarah Marsden".

She then went on to list the 'sightings' she has of Gladys from 1901 to 1923, when she was a Witness at her brothers marriage.

I thought Joanne's post made it very clear who she was trying to find.

Any help would be really really appreciated. It's like Gladys just vanished?

Did she not simply get married ?

Do you have a death for her ?
(I noticed someone's tree has a death of 1969 for her... is that your tree?)
