	Have sent Sandra a PM to let her know that we have tried to clarify the marriages on the thread and to let her know that Maria did indeed marry James White. I think the confusion has been caused by saying the James Beckett marriage was wrong, when actually it was quite correctly showing the marriage of MariaBeckett Gooch's parents. Maria's birth was registered in her mother's maiden surname as she was born before her parents married. Given that she had Beckett as a middle name and used that prior to her marriage, I see no reason to doubt that James was her father.

	The marriage that safc has posted is the marriage of the parents of Maria Beckett Gooch.

	Maria Beckett Gooch did marry James White. Her birth was registered before her parents married hence her birth registered as Maria Beckett Gooch, Gooch being her mother's maiden surname. Her birth was registered in the March quarter of 1858 and her parents married in the 3 rd. quarter of 1859. (See above posts)
