i have alfred on the 1911 census aged 10years old born peckham london i assume it was still london and not kent or surrey then? alfred born 1901 but i cannot seem to find his death? i believe he has not got a middle name?
so any help in finding his death date would be gratefully received

i think i will change alfred year of birth to 1900? and there might be a overlap to 1901? and will take gins advice to be correct on dates?

Dates of birth given on census records are not necessarily correct, Seagate.

At best, they're based on the age given for the person when the census was taken, so can be a year earlier or later than you expect, depending on when the person's birthday fell.

And they can be completely wrong! Don't take them as accurate.

Obviously, he was born before the baptism date in 1900 - certainly not in 1901.

safc also gave you the birth record, in the 2nd quarter of 1900.

Therefore he was most likely born in April 1900 - or possibly late March.

He appears aged 1 on the 1901 census so Alfred Victor Mummery birth fits.

His mother in the 1901 census is not the same Ellen listed on the 1911 census

Alfred mother died and Charles remarried

If this is correct, the Ellen that died in 1903 (Alfred's mother), was Ellen, nee Cockrell.
