...... interesting that there are apparently two families called Whitwam, with husbands called Fred / Alfred, and wives called Hannah Maria :-)

On his birth records it says Sir Joseph Whitwam, born in Huddersfield, parents Fred & Hannah Maria, He had bother John, sisters Ida & Amy, he married Emma (nee) Castledine in 1924, he died in 1976 We have never found out how he came to get the title of Sir on his birth, wedding & death certificate. Can any one help with any info please. :-)
