James Martin was born in 1856 at Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire his parents were Charles Martin and Mary Jennings.

I can find information on James up to 1871 census where he was living at Fenton ,Staffordshire and employed as a brickmaker.

I am trying to find out if I have got the correct marriage for this James Martin.

I have found a James Martin living with a wife Elizabeth in Monks Coppenhall, Staffordshire in the 1881 census and have found a marriage for a James Martin marrying an Elizabeth Houghton in 1876 registered at Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire.

In the 1891 census they are living in Horwich, Lancashire and James is employer on the railway. Some of the family moved to this area.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

That looks better, Gritty, matches the 1876 marriage.

Not sure it is the correct marriage- I think that's what Rachel wants to know. Frederick, Gertrude, Annie were born Crewe- maybe marriage was in Crewe/ Cheshire?
