Very glad to see that GlitterBaby got to the nub of my problem eventually! I have as much routine information as everyone else but I urgently need to find his place of burial. If the NBI proves to be of no help does anyone have a practical solution to my problem bearing in mind I live about 250 miles from his likely burial location? A.M.S.

Alter your heading to include NBI so that anyone that has the disk can spot it.

Shame this did not come up a year ago as moved from that area and used to do churchyard searches for members.

Google Scarborough cemeteries and see which one is likely to be the one used.

If you get a copy of the death cert, you'll have his last address which may help to decide................then get in touch with the cemetery to see if they can assist

Of course, he may have been cremated

I took the following from the Friends of Dean Road & Manor Road Cemetery website (http://www.scarboroughcemeteries.co.uk/ )

"Locate Graves

If you are trying to locate a family grave, contact the Cemetery Superintendant on [email protected] with the person's name and relevant dates. You will be given details of which part of the cemetary the plot can be found.

If you are unable to visit the cemetery, for a donation of £10.00, the Friends group will photograph the grave and surroundings, transcribe the inscription and send them to you by post or email."

I should try contacting them to see if they are able to help you locate the person you are looking for.

You might also try contacting the local library nearest to the area and ask if they would look up in the local papers which they usually hold there to see if they can find a funeral notice.
