If anyone has any information on Charles Woods born 1869 in Melbourne and according to his death notice he was with The Storeman and Packers Union and died 1919 in Geelong Victoria.He married Lydia Ann Dennis in Geelong in 1891. I am trying to find his parents. His marriage Certificate states his father as Henry Woods labourer mother unknown!. That's all I have found. Lydia was born in Stieglitz Victoria, , Any information would be wonderful .

So if the marriage cert says mother unknown it is not an English cert so did he marry in Australia ?

Hi Avril.
Have you any idea at all where he was born (I am guessing not!). I assume he married in Australia - might help folks on here if you say when & to whom, just for a bit more context.
If we go with England/Wales, there are 60 posdibles on 1871 census.
Do you have anything else whatsoever? Witness names, occupation for father maybe?

A check in 'Search All Member Trees,' Avril has Melbourne as Birthplace.

Woods- Charles, Lydia, Mabel, Nellie, Annie- My grandmother, her parents and sisters. Mabel was born in Winchelsea 1891 died 1923. She married Walter Thomas Waverly Neill in 1914. Charles and Lydia were from Steiglitz, Lydia's parents were Fanny and Henry Dennis from England. Charles I know nothing about. Hoping someone can help. thankyou Avril
