Find Ancestors

Hi, he married Betty Siggs in 1955, there were offspring (all now deceased) but I can find no record of them, can anyone help ? Thank you.

She was born 1927, died '98. Can find no record of his birth, maybe (probably) Polish.

Have you bought the MC? That should give you his declared age and his father's name.

How confident are you that any children have died? Might they have anglised their surname?

I don't have an MC , Wandsworth 1912 looks good, the family resided in that area most of their lives. Thank you.

My family were contacted by a company settling wills but unfortunately my father put them in touch with one of our cousins as he couldn't be bothered to deal with it. it was confirmed that there were 2 daughters (deceased) and a small sum of money was passed on to the correct people. I wish I'd spoken to them as I could then conclude that branch of the family on my tree ! They don't all have my interest I guess.

Who registered the woman's death?

What was the name under which it was registered?

See if the cousin was given a copy of the family tree, or failing that can tell you who the Probate company were.

There don't appear to be any WojciechowskI/Siggs births. Either spelling/transcription errors or the children could have been adopted.

Well...she was Betty Julia.. ! I've done a search on variants of Wojciechowski and found nothing. Adopted possibly. I'll get in touch with my cousin and see what she knows.. Thank you.

Hope you can get hold of a copy - the in-laws were contacted before I'd looked for their Ancestors. There were loads of cousins they'd never heard of.

As DetEcTive says, there are no Wojciechowski(a)/Siggs births.

I assume you mean they were daughters of Betty, if it was her estate the "heir-hunter" company were dealing with.

Perhaps they were not also daughters of Jan?
Before the date of Jan & Betty's marriage there were only two Siggs/Siggs births, both daughters, in 1944 and 1948, but not in Wandsworth. One in Croydon, one in Brighton.

Illegitimate daughters of Jan would not have been eligible to inherit from Betty.

Possibly Betty married and divorced, and reverted to her maiden name?
