Could somebody please help,
I'm trying to find the marriage between a John Branigan and Bridget Flanigan, in County Louth Ireland.
From the 1911 census it says they have been married for 36 years which means they would have married around 1875.

I was told by a family member that Bridget's maiden name was Flanigan, so i only have this to go on.
I have had a look on the site i use (Irish find my past) but i can't find anything, could anybody help me please.
Thank you for any help.

Thanks Yvonne, will ad this to my records,
I just know why it is so hard for me find the marriage, it should of been around 1875 according to the census, but i can't find anything.

Did they have to register marriages in 1875 ?

To be honest Yvonne, i really don't know to both questions.
I'm not having any luck on line.
I think my best bet would be to go to the church where John and Bridget were living in Monasterboice and see if they would have any information, I've been told the children were baptised there so hopefully they will have some information.
I can't really think what else i can do.

Thank you so much Yvonne for all your help, i really do appreciate it.

I know what you mean, I'm lucky as i know where my grandparents were born, and i've just meet a few family members that i've never meet before, but my Dad told me where his cousin lives, so me and hubby went there, they only really confirmed what i had already found out, but they don't remember anything passed there parents.

It can get so frustrating not been able to find the information you need, just hope the church can help.
