Yvonne, I don't see any other Michael Higgins born 1826 +/- 10 years in Leicestershire on the 1881 census........unless I am just missing someone?

Stella hasn't mentioned a son Thomas and there doesn't seem to be one on the census records so I wonder if the American folks are a different family?

not sure about the family going to america the ages given in census differ from the ones given by unknown i dont think that death is the michael higgins their are a few births with that name in Ashby de la Zouch

My Great Grandmother MARY HIGGINS was born in Blaby in Leicestershire and was the daughter of MICHAEL HIGGINS and MARY WALSH who were both from Ireland.

Michael was born in 1829 and Mary in 1820. By 1861 they were living in North Street Whitwick in Leicestershire with their 4 children Bridget (b 1853), Jewely (b 1855), Mary (b 1857) and John (b 1859).

I am trying to trace where in Ireland they came from as the sir-names Higgins and Walsh are just too numerous for me to sort out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
