The 1911 census confirms that they have been married 31 years which again ties in with the 1880 marriage:-

there are numerous marriages for her name in the Whitehaven registration district.

Have you checked ALL of them and cross-referenced with 1881 census?

I have Ann Wood bn 1855 Haile, Cumberland.
I have been trying to find a marriage for this lady, but have not as yet come a cross one.
If she did marry was there any children?
