www.freereg.org.uk has a lot of entries for Flower in the North Riding of Yorkshire.
(Free as the name suggests!)

Dear Jacqueline
Thanks for your help. I used the records initially to search for a number of relatives whose details came up on GR and indicated Cleveland parish registers had a match so I signed up (just for a month). Now I'm digging further back in time and it could be that the earlier records haven't been transcribed yet.
I'll have a look at your suggestion on the free site.

Dear GR Community

Forgive me if the information is easily available on the website but I'm having difficulty finding how to search for one surname in specified parish registers (I have subscribed to this).
The surname is FLOWER and I believe the relevant parish registers would be for the Richmond parishes in North Yorkshire from 1750.
