Hi
please can somebody help me find (or find out if he has passed away) Peter Sturgeon. He married Joyce Chaplin in 1949 and they had a son Peter John in Dec 26th 1950. They lived in Edmonton Middlesex.
Many thanks

Gaynor, Do you have a birth year for Peter from his marriage to Joyce?

I don't I'm afraid I only know that Joyce was born in 1920 and I assume he would have been a similar age. Just seems strange I cant find any record of his death. This is a new ball game to me though.

You will need the marriage cert for his age,

Marriages Sep 1949 (>99%)
Sturgeon Peter Chaplin Edmonton 5e 1126

If he was older than Joyce, could be this one

Name: Peter Sturgeon
Birth Date: 2 Feb 1913
Date of Registration: Jul 1990
Age at Death: 77
Registration district: Colchester
Inferred County: Essex
Volume: 9
Page: 2130

But there is another Peter Sturgeon born 1929 so he too could be a possible.

There is an earlier marriage for a Peter Sturgeon in Edmonton, so that 'might' suggest he was older than Joyce and had been married before? but you would need the cert to find out.

How can I get hold of the certificate without the exact date ?

It's not necessarily strange that you can't find any record of his death.

If he was indeed born about 1920, he could well still be alive.

Gaynor, should it turn out to be the Peter born 1913 who died 1990, it would seem he left a will.. I won't put the details here as it may not be the right person but you can find it by entering the name and year on
