Oh yes Catherine, that could well be him....

It's so silly.....I remember knowing he had died, was cremated, ashes kept in the inglenook room until they were scattered on one of the farm fields.....I even remember the field name but can I recall the year....no!!

No death for John either at this stage but he too was alive in 1972.....Edith definitely didn't remarry, John wouldn't have either, I would have known about that....

If you can't find a death for Edith, then is it possible that she remarried after the death of John.
Do you have a death for him?

Jacqueline....you could well be right, I remember one of Johns brothers so followed him through that route, did hope for the same with Edith but if that is her on the census 1901/1911 then nothing rings a bell.....

Until you know how old she was when she married, you're guessing

And if you aren't sure if you're connected, you may have the wrong marriage as well

Any reason why you haven't bought the marriage cert. to find out her occupation, father's name and her address at the time of marriage?
I would think this is essential to make sure you have the correct person.

She 100% lived in Lupton at the time of her death, not sure if she was in hospital when she died, hence Kendal and Lancaster being mentioned.....

Please could you post 1901 census you have....not sure I have the correct birth for her.....
