Hmm seems his mothers maiden name was Purvis so could his father have been a Mr Scott. Thats what happened to my 2x gt grandmother with her first child.

yes sorry, I have George s Purvis, 1893 , he had a son in 1923 who married a celia franklin, I think georges mum was single as it gave Purvis as her maiden name, I will double check. nat.

hi, sorry maybe presuming to much, I have a death certificate of a gs Purvis dead aged 52 in 1945, information I was given was he had a son by the same name, its possible Purvis was his mums maiden name as ive come across different Purvis families marrying, strange I know.
I will check if he married now

hi mel, yes his certificate gives it as scott, new there was loads of georges so having scott helped.
