Member Since: November 2005 Posts: 12 Send Message	I would be very gratefull for any assistance in locating the birth place of William Elliott born 1817 in "Devonshire" as detailed on census records, and and further details of his father, William Elliott born c 1790 again in Devon. I have been unable to link them to other tree's detailing Bicton, Colton Raleigh, Plymouth or any other places detaild on trees I have access to. Searches of the Birth and marraige Registers have only detailed the locations detailed above. William c1817 married Anne S Collet c1817 who is detailed from Uxbridge on census records. The children of William c17 were - William c1837, Ann c1838, Charles c1841, Henry c1843, Emma S c1845, Lucy c1847, Cordelia/ Caroline c1850, George c1853, Alice c1854, Frederick c1856, Alfred c1858, Alice c1860 and Robert c1864. My records also indicate that William c1817 also had at least one sibling being a sister Cordelia c?. William c1817 and family moved to South and East london and then on to Chatham Kent, before moving back to the Bermondsey area of south London which was then in Surrey. It would have been really useful to show a census where you had found the family. Marriage was by License in the presence of William Anderson and Alfred Wilson. Greyghost, my information was from the same cencus records you have listed, but thanks for the confirmations. I agree it would have assisted if i listed them in my request. My information was collated 5 or 6 years ago, but i believe the link to a father called William c 1790 was from a tree i was given access too after a Hot Match. I am at work without access to all my records so I am unable to confirm more at the moment. My problem is getting more info prior to William c1817. Thanks for all your kind help and research. Mark

Member Since: November 2005 Posts: 12 Send Message	Further to the above, I am also experiencing difficulty in confirming the wife and descendants of William Elliott's (c1817) son - HENRY Elliott born 1843 / 44 at Hoxton Middlesex / London. He is detailed on the 1851 census as aged 7 and at home, and, as 18 and unmarried on the 1861 census. From other trees made available to me i have narrowed it down to the following :- Married (date unknown), to Emma born c 1845 - children Emma J 1868, Herbert 1870, Martha 1872, Joseph 1876, Horace 1879 and Ernest ?. These details are from the 1881 census. In addition a shared tree also details an Arthur c1885 and ??Love c? as well as those previously listed. The shared tree also details the correct ancestors of and siblings of Henry in line with my existing tree. The other possibility is - Marriage (date unknown), Wife Emily c1843 and children , Henry c 1866, Emily c 1869, Thomas c 1870, Florence c1876, Martha c 1879 Ada c 1882 and James c1885. This tree also shows the correct ancestors of and siblings of Henry in line with my existing tree. It also states Henry's occupation as a Cooper, which is in line with other relatives I have confirmed. I have tried searching later censuses and various birth and death registrations but have had no luck. Any assistance in confirming the correct wife and children of Henry c1843 Hoxton Middlesex / London, son of William c1817 and Anne S Collett c1817 would be gratefully appreciated.
