Looking for information about Mellish family that lived on Guernsey from about 1905 onwards. In particular the family of Stanley R Mellish who lived at Panmure, Rouge Huis Av, in 1927. Trying to find relatives of him, in particular a son born after 1911.

Other son Dudley Mellish was born 1906 in London.

I am looking for the family of Stanley Robert Mellish and Minnie Emma Brocklesby who were living at St Sampson, Guernsey in the 1911 census. He They had a son Dudley Mellish born about 1906 who was apparantly known to be in St Peter Port in June 1956, but we do not know his whereabouts after this time; and there is another son, who died about 1967/1968.

you are probably going to have to have searches done in the island archives

http://www.gov.gg/islandarchives

Jersey has some relevant records searchable on line (e.g. WWII identity registrations) but Guernsey does not

if you just google *guernsey genealogy* you will find researchers

or you could try asking for help at a more specialised forum e.g.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/alderney-guernsey-jersey-sark/

someone there several years ago did some searches of Jersey archives for me so you might be able to get some assistance that way

Thanks for the help - would anybody be able to do a look up in Guernsey records for me?

you would need to post a specific request for that where someone would see it, possibly Genealogy Chat but be sure to link to this thread

I doubt there is anyone at this site who is in Guernsey, why not try the one I suggested? It is free to join and post.

also if you just google

guernsey genealogy

you find things like

http://www.islandlife.org/genealogy_gsy.htm

which has links to resources

(of course most Guernsey genealogy efforts are focused on long-standing families on the island)

such as the Family History section of the Société Gernesiaise (fear not, it is in English)
