good morning everyone
John was born 1860 in Whetstone, Leicestershire, he married Lisette Tredgold 1883 in London. Lisette was born 1861 Smannell, Hampshire
I could find no trace of them after 1883. As luck would have it I found these two baptisms
from South Africa, Church of the Province of South Africa, Parish Register
Name:
Louise May Root
Event Type:
Baptism Event Date: 09 Dec 1894
Event Place:
Cape of Good Hope, South Africa

Page:

Digital Folder Number: 005029471 , Image Number: 00065

and a baptism for Marguerite Agnes Root on the same day.

Can anyone help to find them. I know South African research is very difficult

thank you in advance
Maddie

If they left before 1890, there won't be any online info

Are they on 1891 UK census?

I can't see them in 1891, nor does there appear to be a London baptism for Elsie, so I would guess at them leaving 1890 early 91?

A few things concerning the Roots on the site. They may be of interest.

http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm300dl?20150214210525B5B3CF63

I clicked on the RSA database and put Root as my search word. There are a lot of records that do not concern them but you can click through these quickly.

The emigration record certainly seems feasible.

Perhaps the husband travelled ahead? It often happened
