Both the mother Emma and child Emma died the same year 1890.

I think I have found the first child William as nephew in 1891, but I can't find his father Edward.

I have everything on Edward before his marriage to Emma, and after 1901 so don't need that thanks.

The son James that appears on the 1901 is , I think, Alice's child from a previous marriage? as I can't find a birth or baptism. The other younger children I can account for as on their baptisms parents are Edward's and Alice's.

Thankyou :-) :-)

It's a good job that I had already found this marriage to a relative of the above Fishlock, because this Ancestry transcription might have defeated me ;-)

Given his occupation in 1901 have you ruled out the marriage in Bristol in 1893

No rule that one out as that one married Florence Cole.

It's not helped that the family has a tendency to use their middle names as first and vice versa, when they feel like it.

have found some school admissions but will have to check tomorrow, thanks for replies all :-)

Elizabeth Report 9 Feb 2015 00:00

hi RR,
if you look up the 1911 census and look at the years married you will see he has put 18 then gone over it with 24. so had a look for YOM 1893 and found only one to a Alice Mary Rogers - Bristol. also children born 10 alive 9 this would account for baby Emma

Thank you Yvonne, yes I am sure that is her as ( very late last night lol) I found some of the family on electoral rolls, will have to go back to it today.

Elizabeth, thankyou I will check that out also, that would certainly be about the right date given the births of children.

The school admission records have proved useful :-)

Name: Wm Fishlock
Age: 8
Birth Date: 20 Sep 1887
School: Sandford Row School
Borough: Southwark
Admission Date: 29 Oct 1895
Parent: Edward
Notes: Sandford Row School (0764) opened in or before 1870. Became Nelson School (See Separate List) in 1932. Closed or reorganised in 196-
Reference Number: LCC/EO/DIV08/SAN/AD/001

( DOB matches with birth date given on baptism)

James also went to this school,in 1898, says born Sept 1890.

what is odd is that James and William appear to be on another school reg, for infant school, and though the father is listed as William I am pretty sure it is them as the birth for William is correct 20/9/87 James also listed as born on same day but in 1890. Though that might be just an error?
