:-) Thank you. I have copies of all the records you indicated above. Except one: The Kirkby Lonsdale marriage record dated 20 Jul 1806 between Margaret Woodman and William Metcalfe. The Melling record of a marriage between the two same names was 26 Jul 1806 at St. Wilfrid's Melling shows Margaret of the Parish and shows William Metcalfe of Kirkby Lonsdale.
I'm wondering how I can go about getting a copy of the Kirkby Lonsdale record. I've been looking for those parish records to no avail thus far. How do I go about getting a copy of the Kirkby Lonsdale record that may have into on William Metcalfe's direct family. thanks so much

I'm thinking that the Kirkby Lonsdale record will actually be the Calling of the Banns in William's own Parish????

Hi
Margaret's was considered illigitimate by the church. Her father Holmes Furnass and her Mother Margaret had all their banns read at Melling but the marriage never took place. I believe that is because her father was previously married years before with a marriage bond to another woman. Abit of a soap opera that is maybe why her father was recorded. Thanks
