Information:- he had just handed over a patient to the dressing station when a shell burst close by him and a piece of the shell struck him in the left leg (thigh) and testicles. Taken into the dressing station, then to the Casualty Clearing Station & operated on & removed to Rouen (10 General). Secondary haemorrhage operated on, then removed to England - moved to 2nd Western General Hospital (29 weeks), 10 days leave & then reported to R.A.M.C (T.F.). (word can't read) Blackpool


[left with] Large scar running down the left leg. Leg very tender. Unable to walk properly. Testicles both missing. Disability not improving.


recommendation:- Discharge as permanently unfit
