Where was Margaret born?

Where was James born?

If these are Scottish, the only place to find info is on Scotlands people for which you have to buy credits

There are NO subscriptions to the site

James isnt showing on FreeBMD so it must be Scotland

You need to buy credits on Scotlands People sorry :-(

Could also be Irish, as there is no record of Margaret on 1901 Scotland census

Jean

You aren't new to these boards, so you should know how important it is to give full info when asking people to help you

The marriage is on Scotland's People in 1916
John Henry Craig to Margaret Jean Mc MullAn (note spelling on SP)

No Year Surname(M) Forename(M) Surname(F) Forename(F) District City/County/MR GROSData
1 1916 CRAIG JOHN HENRY MCMULLAN MARGARET JEAN PARTICK GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/22 0417

AS it is outside the 75 years limit on privacy you would be able to look at the actual record to gather all the details re ages, parents, addresses etc.

30 credits will cost £7 - 1 credit would give you the information shown above - actually up to 25 records per page if you are doing a wide search and 5 credits will allow you to open the record and see the actual certificate. You can also manipulate the site and have got a good idea of the above result for no cost, just a little patience.

A check on the Irish census site in 1901 gives 3 Margaret Jane McMullan's, 2 are RC families aged 4 and 5 and one Presbyterian aged 3. You can cross reference the names of parents with the marriage certificate. The Marriage was not found on the Catholic marriages on Scotlands People but that may be immaterial and she may be on census without her middle name.

Again using Scotlands People, but without using credits, there are 2 John Henry Craig births between 1918 and 1930 in Scotland , narrowed down to 1921 and 1926 in Glasgow City.

There are many more Elizabeth Craig choices.

They are all within 100 years ago, so you would not be able to look at the actual certificate, but 1 credit would give you a little more info. And the info would be there to enable you to send for the certificate.
