John, if you are related to Brian Moore's mother, then his mother's daughter has to be related to you as well ...

are you related to the person thought to be his father?

in that case you would not be related to his mother, so you would only be related to his mother's daughter if he and the daughter had the same father.

But if you are related to his mother, you are by definition related to his mother's grandchild :-)

I assume this was an autosomal DNA test since that is what is needed to establish cousinship where one or more of the people in the possibly related lines is female ...

Yes his mother was unmarried but unable to find a birth certificate for her, she had a daughter in 1925 which she kept for a while and she was taken in by my family. I have recently had a DNA test with her son in America and found that there is no blood relation ship to my family

have you tried Search Trees to see if he is listed

what about his birth record have you found that?

mmn is Moore so looks like she was a single mum

it may help to get the cert for her name

BUT if he was adopted then her family wont know his new name and only he can access his adoption record

You could add a postem to his birth record on FreeBMD giving your contact , BUT would only suggest this IF you are his family
