Find Ancestors

I know that silvian . I just want to know more about him and the death certificate would've gave me an address and like you say the informant and their relationship if any . But thinks it's going to be another brick wall .

much of the information on a death certificate is only what the informant knows .................. or what the deceased has told people


The only information on a death certificxate that you can trust is ............

date of death
place of death
cause of death
name of doctor (or coroner)
name, address and relationship of informant


Everything else is hearsay, including .......................

name of deceased
age of deceased
birth date of deceased
marital status of deceased



often people know the date of someone's birthday but not the year ......a nd that includes family members :-)

Hi. Sorry for the confusion . By getting ernest's birth certificate it gave me his exact date of birth . So i was hoping it would narrow down the search for his death .. But by putting his exact date into ancestry it comes up with no results for death . And I have messaged two people on this site that looks might have him on there tree . On ancestry no one seems to be researching him into any detail . The trees on ancestry that have the most detail for him are mine but the account is in my partners name . So to clear things up . I don't know when or where Ernest died .

yes i've seen that marriage to robert kendrick and i was wondering about it but because ernest jaes was still alive in january 1917 im not sure about it

my great grandmother ruth annie jones was 21 on marriage certificate and her father was johm jones deceased (merchant service captain) but i have nothing to prove that was his occupation

Ruth didn't know whether her father was deceased when she got married as she had been put in a childrens home in 1921. There is another james child on ancestry that could of been her brother born 1916 but i phoned the registry office and the first names of parents aren't the same
i've looked on ancestry and cwgc but cant find anything that would identify him

Ernest James born 24th october 1890 in St. Helens, Prescot. Lancashire
His parents were Edward James who was an upholsterer and mother Ann James nee Hutchen. I've got all the census information .
he married Ruth Annie James on 23rd september 1916 in Birkenhead and they had a daughter named Ruth Ann James born 30th november 1916 in Bebbington, wirral. Ernest registered my grandmothers birth on the 8th january 1917 so i know he was still alive up till then. On the marriage and birth certificate it says he was a labourer
