Just thought let you know for those who have been helping me I've now got the marriage of Arthur Clements Hall and Elizabeth Ellen Challands says both aged 21 both of 41 Campbell St, Radford. Arthur's father was a William Hall (dead) a confectioner. Witnesses were Thomas Hard or Hardy and Annie Waters.

sorry had an emergency here but all well's now.

No I don't have the marriage certificate or the births as they are not my main line. As I and chris have said there is no father's name on Clarence Kirk Hall christening.

On the 1911 census of Ellen H Challand the Florence Cooper is one of the daughters of Arthur Clements and Elizabeth Hall she was born 29 Sept 1883 Farnsfield. Florence is with Ellen H Challand on 1891.

There other daughter is Mary Ellen Hall born 21 Nov 1880 Nottingham the only Mary I can find on 1891 census is in newark with grandparents Charles and Mary Hall but she put her birth as Newark so don't think its the right one .

Would like to find out more abt Arthur Clements Hall just out of interest. Elizabeth Ellen Challand was my 2nd cousin 4x removed.

So he might simply have disappeared before the birth of Clarence

I have just checked the christening of his children on my disc and his name is down as Arthur Clements Hall and not Clarence, so have changed it on my tree, now he is not down as father on Clarence's christening in 1889 just that Elizabeth Ellen Hall nee Challand is as mother a domestic servant and no father.

Simply might not have been registered as not compulsory at that time to do so

But could the middle name be a big clue !!

I can't find anything for Arthur Clarence/Clemence/Clements Hall b 1858 +/- 5yrs anywhere in the country.

I thought the father was Arthur Clements as per marriage reg or Arthur Clemence as per 1881 census which has been mistranscribed as Clarence

Hi,

could some kind person please look for Clarence Hall born 1888 Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire, he was in Edingley on 1891 census as a nursechild with the Ward family. Would like to know who he is with on 1901.

His mother was Elizabeth Ellen Hall (nee Challand) and in 1891 she was at 80 Wilford Rd, nottingham, hsi father was Arthur Clarence Hall and cannot find him on 1891 census. Elizabeth and Arthur was in Farnsfield with her parents.
