Can anyone throw me a help line?
Trying to connect Harris with a Woods.
I am trying to find information about George Harris married to Ann Marie Woods.
Birth dates 1902c
Lived Stourport 1920...1930s. Mitton Street & Burlish top.
They may have had a daughter while in Stourport / Kidderminster area (no firm information to back this up)
I have looked for a marriage but no luck as I have no idea where they could have married.
Ann said she was a Lancashire lass ( no firm information to back this up either, sorry)
Ann left to be with someone else (about 1940?) leaving daughter with George.
Ann died Kidderminster 1968 but not sure of her exact age so can only guess birth year.
As you can see, very little to go on.

There are several possible births named Harris with mmn Wood in Worcestershire between 1926 and 1934.
3 in Dudley (1 girl in 1926 and 1 girl in 1930),
1 in Worcester
and
2 Stourbridge one of which is a girl born in 1932.

Take a look on freebmd.org as it says it is a free site.

If you can't find a marriage then have you considered the possibility that the couple never actually married?

If you know where and when Ann died then have you not bought her death certificate? This may have information to help find her date and place of birth.

How do you have Ann Marie's name, is this from the birth certificate of their daughter?

You may also like to consider that, if the couple didn't marry, then could it be that maybe Ann Marie was already married and so not free to marry George and therefore Wood wasn't actually her maiden name?

Ann died in Worcester.
Her death registered by my sister in law, who is Ann's daughter from her 2nd relationship (after she left George) . She was never sure of her mums birth year.
As far as my sister in law knows Ann was married to Mr Harris.

You say birth dates around 1909 so they wouldn't have been living together, married or not, in the 1920's.
Can you be a bit more specific about dates?

Start by looking for Ann's birth on freebmd...........if you are sure that she was named Wood when she was born

Your right Beverley about dates. 1930 onwards they would be together.
So little to go on I'm afraid.
I have sent many messages to Harris and Wood all over the country but no luck so far.

If your sister in law was Ann Marie's daughter then did her mother never talk about her parents, or her siblings, has she any idea of their names?

My sister in law's birth registered by A. M. Harris, (mother of child) 1946 , Lambeth Hospital, London. London is where babies father lived.
Ann Marie had brother called George.
Ann Marie living Stourport / Kidderminster 1940.. 1960s
Ann Marie was quite poorly and was in hospital for long periods (I think TB) during the time my sister in law and her brother (born 1943) were children.
Ann Marie died Worcester 1969/70
Hope this all make sense.

If Ann called herself Harris when she registered the daughter's birth, it doesn't look as though she ever married.

What info - exactly - is on the cert about the mother?

Ann Marie was Wood before she married Mr Harris.
She left Mr Harris for someone else (they never married) and they
had daughter born 1946.
It was A M Harris (Ann Marie Harris) who registered birth.
Other info on cert was address they were living while in London.

Burton is the other side of Birmingham from where Kidderminster is.

Many a person is known by a different Christian name to what their real
name is

Have just sent message to someone to find out who their John Harris married.
Fingers crossed.

Ann was in service so we have been told.

No luck with trying a John instead of a George.
Sent 2 messages both couldn't help.
Will keep trying.

Have found information on crematorium register about Ann .
Her birth name was WOODS not WOOD Birth year now could be 1902c
She died Kidderminster hospital 17/5/1968, aged 66 calling herself Ann Jenkins.
Mr Jenkins was who she left Mr Harris for.
She lived Burlish Camp, Stourport during 1950s then later Mitton Street, Stourport

Ann was born Woods and her birth year is now 1902c NOT 1909c as first thought.
She died 1968 Kidderminster hospital .
