Could some-one please have a look in the above for George Powell born c1844 London Middlesex. Wife is Annie. I have found them in 1881 at 150 Landsdown Road Ecclesall Bierlow. West Yorkshire, with Son Harry 0. Wondering if they had any more children later in their marriage.

I though that Annie was born in 1854 in Sheffield, but a bit confused now as there is a bigger age difference between George and Annie than before. George's details seem to be ok, but where is Harry who was born 1881 in Sheffield?? There is a marriage for George Powell to Annie Lomas in Sheffield in 1879 but I don't know if this is them.

To verify MMN, get a child's birth cert

Probably lied about Annie's age because of the gap, but certs are the way to get the facts

However, Annie (from 1881 census) could have died and a second marriage taken place.......................all things are possible

She is Annie E in 1891 an 1901 and no sign of an E on the 1879 marriage record

The marriage is probably correct, it's your assumption about Harry's details which is almost certainly at fault

A copy of the cert is essential.
