Hoping someone can assist us to locate any relatives or information for Constance Edwards. Constance Edwards was born in UK (possibly Birmingham), was orphaned at a young age & possibly lived in London before arriving in Australia some time before 1897. She married James Green in Uralla in 1897 and had 6 children, one of which was Charles Henry Green, my husband's father. Have been trying to gather information about her UK roots. Any information from either an Australian or English connection would be greatly appreciated |

How old was she when she married? That would also give us an idea of her date of birth. |

Why do you think she might have been born in Birmingham? Is it just family rumour? |

Bilston is in Wolverhampton register area which is Staffordshire. It is around 10 miles from the centre of Birmingham. I have met many people from this area and when you ask them where they come from they all say Brum until I tell them I'm from Walsall, then they tell me exactly. Most people have no idea where Bilston is so it's possible Constance said Birmingham or from her accent it was assumed she was a Brummie. |

Have you ordered the marriage certificate from NSW BMD? If so, what info was on there? |

According to an unsourced tree on Ancestry, Constance died 1965 in Armidale. Looking at NSW deaths index there is no age given but the parents names were John and Annie. |

Thanks Maureen for the Salford Manchester tip - I had thought this may be a possible link as she has listed her mother as Annie Brown & with her English accent her mothers name may have been Broome & noted as Brown (or she believed Annie Broome was her mother. |

The Manchester Constance is still with the Broome family in 1891. There is a birth on freebmd that could be for her: |
