I agree, a simple mistake on the death certificate. However it's also Amelia Edith on the probate record meaning that's what it was on the will. Sounds as if she dumped the Ada and changed it to Edith for some reason.

The info on the death cert is only as good as the informer gives. Did Raymond say the wrong name?

My husband got the shock of his life when he looked at his birth cert - my FIL gave his wife the wrong maiden name. It's not the name she was known by, that is, her late father's surname but her step father's surname which she'd never been known by. We'll never know why. :-S

Nah! Her name just got B*ed up on the death cert.

Raymond and Dorothy are at 37 Parkfield after their marriage.

It does seem as though it was the Blundell/Pasmore residence for many years.

More chance of winning the lottery than these being 2 separate couples.

Maybe Amelia fell out with her mother so changed her middle name.

Born 7 Dec. 1900, father a paper stainer.

The above death sounds very likely. Perhaps the registrar mistook the name Ada for Edith (accents can cause this) and the birth year would be right.

Failing this, it is possible that Raymond and Amelia just split up and because divorce was still expensive and difficult for ordinary working class people at that time, he just went on to marry again saying he was single. Do you have the second marriage certificate which would give his marital status at the time (or at least what he said it was).

My bet is on the death found by Maureen being the correct one.

Amelia Pasmore married Raymond Duncan in London, Nov 27, 1943. He then married Dorothy Pryce, Nov 3, 1945. I'm trying to find out what happened to Amelia. I can't find a death notice. I've tried Ancestry, BMD and Deceasedonline. Thanks for any help you can give.
