The situation Shirley described is a common one. Here's an example:

Marriages Jun 1887 (>99%)
GOWLAND Catherine Chester le S. 10a 640
Pearson Jane Ann Chester le S. 10a 640
Petherick John George Chester le S. 10a 640

Marriages Jun 1887 (>99%)
NESBITT Joseph Chester le S 10a 6_0

So although it looks like Jane has no spouse, it's actually the case that Joseph's page # is v. hard to make out - I finally made it out as 640, and I've submitted a correction to FreeBMD.

Found the above easily enough but when putting in Clarke and spouse details to find the Christian name of ? Clarke nothing can be found.

Any ideas why folks?
