I requested copies of Wills for the year 1951 on Gov.uk (find a will) .
I provided the following information which i found on Ancestry .Co.uk, the date of death, date of administration and registry district, but i am unable to find the Folio number needed to go with my request, They have written back stating they are unable to help me any further unless i provide them with the Folio number.

Ellen Gigg date of death 23/04/1951. Administration date 09/07/1951 Exeter
Sydney Gigg date of death 24/02/1941. Administration date 11/08/1951 Exeter

Does anyone have any idea where i might look to find the Folio number.

Thank you for your help.

Copy of letter received.

There isn't a folio number on the calendar entries, so how can you provide that??

The link you've provided is to your own computer which we can't access ;-)

I'd suggest that write back to them with the copied entries in full.

Unless they've retained your cheque, try searching for the entries again and order through

Re-reading your post, did you order via the site in the first place? If so, unless they've retained the fee, try doing it the old fashioned way.

Thank you for your reply, sorry about the link not working, yes i did order from that web site and have already paid them £10 for each will, which they say is none refundable and if i request more copies i will have to pay again.

Thank you for the other link, i will try that out. Thank you

In that case - write back to them! Why pay again because they don't provide the details?
