Just posting this, having stumbled on it. Iterates ton is just over the Clyde from Anderston. As this child has the same middle name as Robert and Agnes's first child, it may help to identify them on earlier census. |

I wondered about that one too Shirley but he would be the third child rather than second. The area is close to Anderston so is a possibility. |

If you don't have it, get his birth certificate from Scotlandspeople to find the occupation of his father and the date and place of his parents's marriage. I am not seeing an obvious entry on the 1871 census. (I think the Cadder one is maybe a little too far from Anderston). The details from the parents marriage certificate I.e. Their declared ages, may help us to trace them. It could be that by the time of the 1871 census, one of his parents had died and the other remarried. |
