Marriage of William Morton born 1902

I am searching for the marriage details of my maternal grandmother's brother William Morton who was born 6th May 1902 in South Shields, County Durham.

All I know is that his wife was called Maud, and that ABOUT 1934 they had a daughter called Jean.

William was in the Merchant Navy. I don't know if they had any other children. There is a possibility (although not concrete info), that William and his family MAY have moved to Wales.

I've been struggling with this for years, and still have no solid info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks Rose, just realized that I'd worked on the previous thread but didn't remember it even though it was less than a month ago.

A lot of info on that previous thread, Karen, why on earth start a new one? We were bound to duplicate what's already been found.

Sorry everyone, but even though I've been on here a few times before, I'm not quite sure what to do, to pick up on a thread, so just put another message on here.

If someone could point me in the right direction as to what to do, I'll be more careful next time.

In answer to the questions though. The William Morton Morton IS the right birth reference, however when sending for the birth certificate, it is actually only shown as William Morton.

Also, the 1911 census with the family living at 40 Ada Street is the correct on, William's sister Annie was my maternal grandmother.

Yvonne, I am sure Maud was William's wife's name and Jean's mother's name. I have photos on which my nan has written "William's wife Maud with daughter Jean" and shows Jean at quite a young age (probably under a year), strange to call her Jean if that wasn't her first name.

Sorry for any confusion I've caused.

Please stick to the other thread otherwise info is only repeated,
I nudged it up but to find it in future you just go to 'My threads' on left of screen under 'Tools' :-)

safc perhaps you could post that marriage ( sounds hopeful!) on the other thread also? and then it is all in one place for Karen to go through :-)
