Hi Cherilyn, thanks for that, I have just ( claimed a convict site ) just waiting now,
I also looked at Margaret Kavenagh and Mary Carney, Thomas got his ticket of leave in 1846 could have married Margaret , but in 1851 his ticket of leave was cancelled ,he left Scone ( unlawfully ) so it could have been Mary, or maybe got fed up with Margaret , and married Mary, he left behind in the UK a wife & 3 kids, she married again in 1842 , but was still married to Thomas
Cheers Mary

Hm according to death notice, the above Thomas d. 1868 in Scone was a doctor and aged 30!

So not that one!

Cherilyn Report 9 Jan 2015 05:09

So Thomas was trasnported aboard "Eden" in 1840.

There are 2 possible Thomas HUNT marriages in NSW:
Margaret KAVENAGH in 1849 (RC Church, Goulburn)
Mary CARNEY in 1852 (RC Church, Singleton)

Singleton would have been the nearest Catholic Church to Scone at the time so my money's on that one.

This may be his death:
6505/1868 / HUNT THOMAS / THOMAS / DIED SCONE / SCONE

I can't see anything definite for him in Australia- seems there were lots of Thomas Hunts!

He was previously convicted July 1838 for larceny and senteced to 6 weeks.

Leicestershire Mercury - Saturday 07 July 1838
"THOMAS HUNT, 30 also pleaded guilty to stealing some elm boards belonging to Mr Thomas Ward, at South Croxton on 28th June.- 6 weeks hard labour."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leicester Journal - Friday 13 July 1838
"Thomas Hunt pleased guilty and was sentenced to six weeks hard labour for stealing five elm boards at South Croxton on the 28th of June."

Thank you , Thomas 's other conviction was for 6 months,,pity he didn't think about the consequences of his actions later on, my ancestry could have been different ,,Thomas had a ticket of leave late 1840's, but had to stay in Australia, New South Wales, his wife Sussanna later married ( bigamist ly) Robert Greenwood , so Thomas being a young man would have married again,
