Find Ancestors

My G. Great Uncle above was born in 1850 in East Stonehouse Devon. His middle name was the maiden name of his grandmother, & the middle name of his mother.
He is in the 1851 & 1861 Census but then I can find no trace.
In the 1960's my mothers second cousin told us he went off with the Gypsies. Can anyone help trace him, any marriage, children or death.
