Thanks to Genes Reunited members we have now found not only William Howard 1764 Stifford,Essex but all his eight siblings who were born in north Kent.We have also found his father Israel Howard 1743 and who married Elizabeth Crump in Swanscombe,Kent in 1763.We cannot however find Israel's birthplace or Elizabeth's baptism or birthplace so that we can find their siblings who we hope may provide the link to the Howards of Bethnal Green,London.
Since both these groups of Howards were bargemen we still feel that there is every chance of a link between them.

The gap between the marriage and the child's birth seems a bit extreme, if they had a further 11

Trying to find siblings or parents of William Howard who we are told married Margaret West 15th September 1788 at Swanscombe,Kent and who having had Israel Howard in Swanscombe in November 1799 then moved to Hockley in Essex where they had eleven more children. Following generations became involved in making,owning and operating barges between Rochford and London until the railways took over the transport of goods in the early 1900s.
It seems there were huge brickmaking works at Great Wakering and the barges were used to transport the bricks to London and then transport other goods back in the other direction.
Our direct family were involved with barges in London at this time and we have been advised by "Who do you think you are magazine" to follow the Essex line of Howards in order to further our researches.
