Hi Kay????

Yes I thought that too but there are so many marriages on SP to go through it would cost me a small fortune, the same with a death for her . I have looked at quite a few deaths for her but so far no luck.
When I saw the 1875 valuation rolls were available on Scotlandspeople I had a look and found 1 Ann Stewart living 2 houses away from where her mother lived at 38, St.Andrews Square, Ann was shown as living at No. 40. but all it shows is a name , no occupation for her so I am stuck, but I'm sure she will turn up somewhere, my lot usually do.

1841 --1871 ,wouldnt there be a likely chance, Jean, she would be married by 1871.

average age was 20--25.

I was hoping the one in Anderston would have shown an address I might have recognized as that is the area where most of my Ancestors were born, married and died .

I did look at this one safc and wondered where the child's mother was then found his birth on Scotlandspeople showing his mother to be Ann Stewart with father Robert McPherson.
Couldn't find a marriage for the couple which would have shown Ann's parents so got no further with it.

Hello again,

I am still looking for Agnes's daughter in the 1871 Scottish census .

Her name is Ann Stewart d.o.b. c1841 in Glasgow.
She is last on the 1861 with her grandmother Anne Mitchell in Stirling Street, Glasgow. Her occupation is French Polisher.

I have just been on Scotlandspeople looking at the 1871 census and found a couple of Ann's that just might be her but don't want to use up more credits than I have to, so I wonder if someone with Ancestry could look at these please.

The 1st one is Ann age 30 in the district of High Church, Glasgow and the 2nd is Ann age 29 in the district of Anderston, Glasgow. hopefully it will show her occupation,

Many Thanks,

jean

Thank you very much Kay ????

That's the one, St Andrews Square . Was hoping it might show Agnes's daughter Ann.
I seem to have lost her after 1861 when she was living with her grandmother and then I have been looking on Scotlandspeople at the Valuation rolls for 1875 and found an Ann Stewart ( her mother Agnes was married to Alexander Stewart before her marriage to Duncan McGregor ) living at 40, St Andrews Square .
Sorry for rambling on , hope you can understand what I have been saying,

Kay????

think you might need "Scotlands people" for this one

Jean

Jean Report 29 Dec 2014 17:55

Thank you AnnCardiff,

That's the right Duncan .

Not my Agnes , her maiden name was Mitchell.
I have Duncan and Agnes's marriage and births just curious to know the address in 1871. I did have all the information on them but I seem to have lost them somewhere along the line.
