Oh, I think I've just spotted why you may think there's a child- you may have seen this extract, without seeing the entire article?:

Bristol and West Decrees Nisi
“... Mervyn Frederick Mortimore. Misconduct. Custody of the child of the marriage given to petitioner. Doris Irene Asbmead of 83, Lincoln Street. Barton Hill. Bristol, ... ”

The child belongs to the previous case listed in the paper (and not Doris and Edward). The only details of Doris and Edward's divorce in the paper are those in my previous post.

MOMBER Dot Irene Passed away on 27th November 2013. Will be sadly missed by Edna, Gordon, Mike, Pete, Pat, Rachel, Jennifer, Kristopher and Liam. The funeral service to be held on Monday 9th December 2013 at 11.00am at Westerleigh Crematorium. Family flowers only.

Maybe the child was born before they married . There are no births to them as a couple unless facey wasn't her maiden name

Edit looks like Facey was her maiden name

perhaps the child was adopted..........there certainly is no record of any birth.

Edward and DORIS are both from BRISTOL i dont no the childs name but came across a news paper cutting saying they got devorced in july 1949 and the child [no name ] was to stay with Doris

There are no Ashmead births with mother's maiden name Facey between 1941-1949 on FreeBMD.

Iam trying to trace the child of Edward Gilbert Ashmead he married Doris Irene Facey in 1941 and divorced in july 1949 can any one help please
