Find Ancestors

My single link to Irish Roots is to Patrick FITZGERALD who was born around 1832 in Ardfert. He served with the British Army in India in the 1850-60's His marriage records suggest his father was Man.... or Mau....

Can some one tell me if it is possible locate his Roman Catholic baptism records for Patrick or are they not available at all.

I believe Catholic records are kept by the local church so you would need to locate which one it could be and ask them

Civil registration though would be kept for bmds from when this started

Have you tried churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie ?
they have baptisms for Kerry.
There are none that I can see for Ardfert but some for Tralee which I think is very close by.
Nearest I can see for a father's name would be Michael.

Thanks for the efforts of those who have responded so far. Patrick was born around 1831-1832. For this reason I am seeking the wisdom of those more familiar with Irish research pre civil registration.

Whilst he was born in Ardfert it is possible that he was baptised at nearby Tralee. His father could be Maurice. He named his children, (1) Mary, (2) Sarah Margaret and (3) Thomas Patrick.

I believe that St Brendan's Church is the main Catholic Church in Ardfert.

Ann found a marriage but with father's name Thomas (I see his first son was also a Thomas)
