Please can someone tell me who was living at 5 Court , Buck Street Birmingham in 1851. I have just received a death cert for William Abel and present at death was a Mary Dodd. William Died in July 1852 and I am trying to find out if Mary Dodd was a friend or relative.

PS I have just noticed they were living in the same place at time of death. Silly me I should have noticed that.

Sometimes a neighbour would act as a nurse when someone was dying . They would lay out the body after death ready for it to be taken away

Often the same person would act as a midwife for home births

If in this case Mary was acting as a nurse and assisted at the death she may then have taken on the registration of the death too
