I've got a 1990 mapthat shows Shrewsbury Crescent, but it no longer appears on modern maps - I think Beames Rd is where it used to be:

Glad I was able to help- if there's anything else you'd like me to look for, please ask.

Hello Gritty
Thank you so very, very much. You have confirmed the address of my Grandfather and Mother. They moved down from Tynemouth in 1911 and until now the only possible address I could find was from a R.A.F. muster roll for 1920. Your reply has confirmed the address and as a result I also have my Grandfathers service number. Please do have a drink on me!!!

Edward Guthrie Davison

Thomas Henry Valentine Staples

EDIT: Same people listed there in 1923 too

The Electoral registers on Ancestry are not always easy to search by address due to transcription errors- it's sometimes easier to search by name

Hello Gritty, thank you for your swift reply.
The area I wish to look at is, No. 11 Shrewsbury Road (possibly renamed Crescent) Harlesden London N.W.10. The time span would be from 1914/15 backwards to 1911.
I will give Ancestry a try, on a monthly trial.
Once again, many, many thanks for your reply.
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year

What area are you wanting to search?

Gritty Report 21 Dec 2014 17:36

Historical Electoral registers for Midlands (Birmingham 1832- 1955), London (1832- 1965), Surrey (1832- 1945) and West Yorkshire (1840- 1962) are available on Ancestry. However, most central libraries also hold historical electoral registers for their area.

Please some help, advice or guidance.
Is there anyway I can access electoral rolls that relate to periods of time around 1910/20? The GR records seem start from 2002 only. Do earlier records exist? Do I have to subscribe to another site? Any advice would be most appreciated.
