Trying to find where the above were born. They were either brothers or first cousins.
Both were married in Finmere in 1799 and were witnesses at each other's wedding, Steven to Lucy Pickering 28 Feb and Robert to Elizabeth Strainge 17 Jun. Stephen had 12 children in various counties and, we believe, died in London. Robert was my gg grandfather who died aged 38 Finmere1815. Robert's son, also Robert (1805
-1871) ran the King's Head PH in Finmere; his brother William (1807-1889) was a baker on the same site but moved to Eastbourne where he died. My paternal grand-mother was Ellen Susannah Greaves, the 14th. and youngest child of the second Robert and his 2nd. wife Emma Northover Petty, niece of his 1st. wife Elizabeth Petty, which was illegal in those days and caused a great scandal in Finmere.

Welcome to the boards, John.

Have you tried contacting the Oxfordshire Family History Society?
Their services aren't free, but not too expensive.
No guarantee that the people you want would be listed, of course.

A tree on Ancestry says that Stephen born 1770 in Finmere, Oxfordshire was the son of Stephen Greaves, 1738 and Susannah Dagley, 1740. The tree however shows no siblings of 1770 Stephen.

Another tree says that Robert Greaves born 1776 who married Elizabeth Staringe was the son of Robert Greaves born 1756, Syresham, Northamptonshire.
