Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Dec 2014 22:46

The 1911 census says they had 10 children, 7 living and 3 had died. I can't seem to find one of their children by birth or death.

I have:-

Emma 1883 - 1883******Died before the 1911
James 1884
Eliza 1886
Emma 1888
William 1890 - 1909*******Died before the 1911
Caroline M 1892 - 1918 Married
Joseph Henry 1893
Margret 1896
Richard 1897

All the children were born in Hackney.

I have most of their baptisms their father being a Tin Plate Worker Employer or a Lamp Maker or Railway Lamp Maker or Tin Man.

1911 Census

I have all other info going back to 1700 and something but I woudl just like to find this other child as my aunt has asked me. This is her grandfather James Beech 1863.

Thanks to anyone who may find this child.

The gap seems to be between Joseph Henry (or Henry Joseph) 1893 and Margaret 1896.

have you looked at

Births Jun 1895 (>99%)
Beech Albert Samuel Hackney 1b 593

Births Sep 1895
Beech Matilda Elizabeth Hackney 1b 599

These seem to be the only two biologically possible births in that time scale.

*** Albert Samuel died in the December quarter of the year of his birth.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Dec 2014 17:26

Hi all this is the first time I have had a chance to get back to this thread. Thanks for all your replies.
Sorry for not getting on here sooner.

Now I know I am getting old!!!!!!! I had completely forgotten about the thread I put up in 2010 but I had mum very ill then and she died that year a little later on.

Yes to Emma 1883 who died I had found that one and also William died in 1909 so he would'nt be on the 1911. I shall have to look into the ones that Beverly put up Matilda Elizabeth Beech sounds good to me as someone in this family had a middle name of Matilda.

I also found James birth and baptism last night and I had him born 1885 when it was in fact 1884 he was born in Oct and baptised in Nov I think.

Also I now have a sub for the baptisms which I did'nt have in 2010.

James the father was always a Tin Plate worker of some kind and my grandfather Richard was the youngest son and he too was a Tin Plate Man.

Oh took me out today and the pooter is still playing up but I am here now.

Thanks once again for all your replies, your all stars.. :-D

Mel - this is the MOST EXCRUCIATING thing about the 1911 census!! I have several missing births/deaths....and have spent all too many £9.25 on punts! I have a very old thread called "Don't you just hate the 1911 census?"!

Jude

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Dec 2014 10:33

Morning all and thanks foro that Jude. I know it can be very annoying but as they had most of their children baptised perhaps this unknown one did'nt live long enough. You just don't know do you? Perhaps it was born dead and they just counted it as a birth but it did'nt get a cert. It could have been a prem when born.

I would just like to thank you all who looked for me. I always say two heads are better than one but in this case it was many heads are better than one.

James, my gt grandfather died in 1911 when my grandad was 14 and 7 years later grandads mum died and one of his sisters too. I have gt grandads gold watch and his diamond ring passed to me by my mum so he is quite special to me the James that I never knew.
