Surely Rose can't be the mother of the children? She's only 20.

I don't think so, Gins, Mose is a master tailor on the 91 census but Caroline's father is a plasterer on that birth record.

Rose Ann Taylor , B1870 Kempsey NSW Australia married Moses Davis c1857 in Kempsey in 1890. On the marriage certificate they are both listed as being tailors for their occupation. They seem to have disappeared after getting married. On marriage certificate it says Moses was a divorced man and Rose a spinster. I can't find Emily being born in Australia unless her surname was different at the time. Maybe they are children from his previous marriage. His previous marriage may have been to Clara Drillsman(Drielsma) who married a Moses Davis in 1880 in St. George in the East London and they were divorced in Australia in 1889.At this time he was bankrupt and then ??went on to marry Rose. I just can't connect the dots, I also found a Rose Ann Davis, widow, died in West Kempsey 29/10/1954 which could be her, being 84 years old. Thanking everyone for their help !!!

Thanks for your help, I think he swapped his name around from time to time. David Moses, Moses Davis and Davis Moses. Gets a bit confusing but I will keep hunting.
