Could this man be connected?? On ancestry.co.uk.
Thomas Henry Jefferson born Chepstow 1866 medals awarded to WW1 merchant seamen 1914-1925.
I can't see a birth for this man either.

Oops ! Sorry to say have no idea what the B stands for.......probably adopted the Bushy name as well.
Looking back through my Thomas research there is no evidence of a B for Agnes in her Birth Registry A/J 1869 Chepstow nor her Baptism 30th Oct 1870 St Brides Netherwent Newport Mon. nor on her marriage 29th March 1887 and not on any Census'
Agnes was born to Sarah, 2nd wife of John Thomas ( bt 29th Aug. 1824 Undy mon died 10th March 1905 in Chepstow Workhouse) Wife Sarah Ann Evans b. abt 1847 and died O/D 1870 aged 23. Sarah & John married A/J 1867 Newport
No "B"'s about ....
Sorry for the misunderstanding.....

I meant what does the B stand for in the woman's death record

Apologies to JAQUELINE, on the Cen. 1911 there were only the 4 Bushby Jefferson children but on his marriage Ivor Lionel became Bushby Jefferson making it 5. Also for showing a capital B instead of lower case for Agnes Jefferson nee Thomas' birth as 1869.
I have researched the census' 1871and 1881 in England for Thomas Henry Jefferson born about 1867 in the DURHAM area ..... message board post. Any suitable candidate, using varients of his baptismal name was followed through for a marriage & death. Lots still appeared in the 1891 census in northern England and were thus eliminated.
Any James & Jane combination with surname varients were also checked in Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne, Yorkshire and Durham areas.
I used Family Search, Ancestry, Genes, Find my Past & Free BMD. and gone over them many times in case I missed something.
As other children added BUSHBY after the death of their mother maybe this indicates the need to reinforce a link between Jefferson / Bushby as opposed to it being "just a loose connection as suggested " Now mother Agnes has passed away this can be achieved without offending her. Possibly the Bushby baptismal names were included when Thomas Henry was present and not included in those births which were only registered by Agnes......I have no proof, just speculating.
Your advice is welcomed, I'm a novice researcher and this is the first time I've used the message boards......hopefully I'll improve these skills as well.
regards, Elizabeth

The name doesn't have to be a 'family' one.
My stepmother's second name was Evans..................added because a 'friend' of her parents promised a legacy if the child was named after her.
The legacy didn't materialise

According to Alice's probate record Beatrice Agnes Bushby Jefferson was one of the executors - so that is 5. Ivor Leo B Jefferson's death looks like he also added the Bushby.
I see Jacquiline has edited her post, as she was referring to 4 with the Bushby name.

In Cen.1911 Thomas & Agnes Jefferson's 5 youngest children b.1898-1911 in Newport have BUSHBY as a middle name. A mystery to all living relatives.
Thomas is in 1891 cen. following marr.to Agnes 1887 NEWPORT Mon. father James dec'd farmer. Thomas was born Northumberland /Guisborough Yksh or Newcastle upon Tyne area 1866/67. Thomas bt aged 21 in Newport, parents James & Jane. No luck tracing any of them.
Link is definatly not through Agnes Thomas, wife of Thomas Jefferson.
Can anyone help with this query please ?
