A little tip, for future searches, Stephen, where the names are fairly unusual

Just enter the forenames on freebmd, and click 'find'

There wouldn't be too many results for 'Sarah Chalk'.

Of course, this particular 'trick' doesn't work after 1911

C&Pd from your other thread.........

Hi Genes members,
In my last thread about the Warren family you were all very helpful, but now I have another plee for help. I have a Lucy French Warren born about 1821 and dies 1845c, I have her marrying a George Lince August 11th 1839, and I have her father as a William Warren, I was given this marriage certificate, so Im trying to find out where in my Warren family she belongs. I know she does but trying to find where. On the marriage certificate the witnesses were Sarah Chalk Warren and a William Warren so as in my last thread I was asking who Sarah Chalk Warren married and you came to the rescue, as Sarah signed Lucy's marriage cert. Im trying to place her in the tree, can someone please look in ancestry to see if anyone has her in their tree so I can complete this family, I know it sounds confusing thanks.
JillI

According to a tree on Ancestry.........William Warren's second wife was Mary French.

Details of William's Will..........

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Warren of Margaretting in the County of Essex Yeoman I appoint my adopted Son William Warren and my Brother Thomas Warren Executors of this my Will. I give to my said son the sum of fifty pounds out of the share to which I am entitled under my late father's will and also all my cloathes and wearing apparel and the bedstead bed and furniture which belonged to his late mother. I give to my adopted daughter Lucy the wife of George Lince the sum of fifty pounds also out of the share to which I am entitled as aforesaid for her sole and separate use and to be paid to her at such times and in such manner as as she shall independently of her said husband direct. And I give and bequeath all other my personal estate and effects whatsoever unto my wife Mary absolutely. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this seventh day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty-one. William Warren signed and declared by the said William Warren the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses... Mary Lince of Margaretting...Frederick J Veley of Chelmsford....

PROVED on the 22nd day of May 1857 before the Reverend David Bowker Wells Clerk Surrogate by the oath of Thomas Warren the surviving executor to whom admon &c was granted he being first sworn duly to administer Under £200.

Marriage to Mary French
1827 12 Dec
Age: 30
St Margaret's Margaretting Essex marriage by banns Mary French spinster William Warren widower both of this parish witnesses Samuel Warren and Ann Warren

Checking out the tree on Ancestry........it seems that William Warren is the Brother of John Chalk Warren, who's daughter Sarah Chalk Warren married William Barker.
