according to a tree on ancestry, James married Fanny on 13 April

The 1871 census says he is a widower - which would be right if Jane died in 1869 and he didn't marry Fanny until June - which is after the census.

I have James c 1826 East Retford. In 1881 he is married to Fanny, with children ranging from 19 yrs down to 0 yrs. I think he may have married twice as their marriage - James Sanderson and Fanny Stockdale is June 1871.
Could some-one please look up 1861 / 1871, his wife could be Jane, there is a marriage in June 1848 and a death for a Jane in 1869 aged 42. :-(
