I got my ancestors mixed up didn't I!!!

However it might be a good idea if I contacted the West Australian Library again but this time ask if they can help me trace Frank Field. Might be worthwhile.

:-D

I have been in touch with the Western Australian Library and asked a question about obtaining Convict Records. I was encouraged to do this by another GR researcher who has her ggg grandfather's convict records.

I am awaiting their response and will post my progress. All very exciting. This GR researcher found my Thomas Cocking and that is why she suggested I contact the Librarian at WA Library.

Surely you could contact the Bromsgrove newspaper and aswk them who in Australia contacted them ??

I am sure that they would be very glad of the story !!

I am trying to trace Frank Field b. 1872 and emigrated from Redditch, Worcestershire, with his wife Elizabeth and two children to Australia in 1910. I understand he eventually went to live with the aborigines and stayed with them until his death in 1972 making him 100 years old. In 1972 an Australian newspaper contacted the Bromsgrove newspaper asking for information. They in turn contacted my cousin who lived in Redditch because his name was Field and asked him if he knew of a Frank Field, which unfortunately he did not. I was not told this until after and lost the chance to confirm the aborigine story. Can anyone suggest how I can confirm this story about Frank Field.
