did you remember that ages of all people over the age of 15 on the 1841 Census were usually rounded DOWN to the nearest 5???


This means there can be a discrepancy of as much as 4 years between the 1841 and subsequent censuses

Thank you safc, this seems to conflict with the 1841 census which gives Janes age as 4 and her brother, George, as 10. Could there possibly be 2 Thomas Lucas and Elizabeth so close together?

The last entry on my thread is the 1841 census for George Lucas which gives his parents Thomas and Elizabeth. Can anybody see this couple in 1851 please to give me a better chance of finding them getting married? Family Search has thrown up nothing so far but perhaps I am looking in the wrong place...?

Hi all, I am trying to do research for a friend but all the sites I used to use, with success, seem to have changed!
I have found Jane Lucas in FreeBMD born in 1858 in Leominster, and I would like to see if she was with family in 1861. Can anybody see anything to match in 1861 please?
